At the start

Nibali in pink, one procession left

Vincenzo Nibali took the maglia rosa on the last mountain and leads Esteban Chaves by fifty-two seconds, Valverde by 1:17 and Kruijswijk by 1:50 — a race he was four minutes and forty-three seconds out of three days ago. Today is the run from Cuneo and the finishing laps in Turin, and with so few sprinters left even that is not guaranteed to them. Mikel Nieve has the mountains jersey.

How it was won

  1. 23 km to go

Late moves on the Turin circuit

The processional run from Cuneo gives way to the finishing laps in Turin, where the last escapees are hunted down and the sprinters' teams take over for the final act of the Giro.

  2. At the line

Relegation in Turin, pink for Nibali

Giacomo Nizzolo crosses the line first and is relegated for deviating from his line, handing the stage to Nikias Arndt ahead of Trentin and Modolo. On the podium above them, Vincenzo Nibali seals his second Giro d'Italia.
