The road
At the start
Rome, and a third Grand Tour in a row
Chris Froome carries 46 seconds over Tom Dumoulin into Rome, with Miguel Ángel López third at 4:57. Today is a procession by any other name — 115 kilometres of laps past the Colosseum and the Circus Maximus — and a sprint at the end of it for Sam Bennett and Elia Viviani, who have six stage wins between them. If Froome finishes, he holds all three Grand Tours at once.
How it was won

Protests neutralise the GC
Angry at an unsafe, cobbled circuit and a lack of marshalling, the riders force officials to freeze the general classification after three laps and cancel the bonuses.
