Down the Riviera to Andora

Tim Merlier took Fossano by a hair and the classification has not moved: Pogačar in pink, Thomas at 46 seconds, Martínez at 47. Eddie Dunbar and Simon Carr are out. Today runs 187 kilometres from Acqui Terme over the Colle del Melogno and down onto the Ligurian coast, a sprinters' day but for the rise at Capo Mele near the end. Pogačar attacked on one of those yesterday; Thomas said he was kicking his head in.

1. 14 km to go

   Ganna's long-range dart

   Filippo Ganna launches a lone pursuit off the foot of the Capo Mele with 4km to go, forcing his own track teammates in Lidl-Trek into a frantic chase.

2. 2At the line

   Milan holds them all off

   Caught with 900 metres left, Ganna hands the race to the sprinters, and Milan launches early, holding off Groves and Bauhaus with one of the longest sprints of the season.
