Greg Van Avermaet came out of the Massif Central with a stage win and five minutes on the entire race: Alaphilippe at 5:11, Valverde at 5:13, Froome, Quintana, Barguil and Aru all at 5:17. Thomas De Gendt, his companion for a hundred kilometres, holds the mountains jersey. Vincenzo Nibali lost nearly fourteen minutes. Today is 187 kilometres to Montauban over small climbs — a strong sprinter's parcours.
