How it was won

  1. 23 km to go

    The two-man break runs out

Arashiro and Barta have had five minutes for most of the afternoon, but Direct Energie finally marshal the chase and the pair are swept up with 23km to go.

  2. At the line

    Cavendish makes it three

Sabatini opens a disjointed sprint in Montauban and Cavendish comes off it to out-last Kittel and the impressive debutant Dan McLay — his third win in six days and the 29th of his Tour career.
