The Jura cost the race twelve riders in a day. Richie Porte and Geraint Thomas crashed out on the Mont du Chat descent, eight more came in outside the time limit including Arnaud Démare, and Rafał Majka did not start today. Rigoberto Urán won the photo finish in Chambéry; Froome leads Aru by eighteen seconds and Bardet by 51. After the rest day, 176 gentle kilometres through the Dordogne to Bergerac.
