How it was won

  1. 12 km to go

    The escape's day ends

The six leaders are finally caught with twelve kilometres to go, and the GC teams surge forward for a technical run to Peñíscola strewn with roundabouts.

  2. 3 km to go

    Bennati's roundabout gamble

Daniele Bennati attacks out of one of the many roundabouts inside the final three kilometres and carries a slim margin under the flamme rouge.

  3. At the line

    Drucker's breakthrough

Meersman opens from more than 200 metres to close Bennati down and pays for it. Jempy Drucker blows past him with a hundred to go and wins clearly from Selig and Arndt.
