A short chrono to open in Málaga
The Vuelta begins with 8.3 flat kilometres along the seafront at Málaga, and for once it begins without Chris Froome or Alberto Contador. The classification is wide open: Movistar bring Quintana and Valverde, Astana bring López and Fuglsang, and Simon Yates comes to make something of a season that fell apart on the Colle delle Finestre. Tonight somebody wears red for the sake of a handful of seconds.
