The road

At the start

Andorra, and the first real mountain

The team time trial put Jonas Vingegaard back in red with three UAE riders eight seconds behind him — Ayuso, Almeida and Soler, all on the same time. Today crosses into Andorra with 3,600 metres of climbing and finishes at Pal, the first serious summit of this Vuelta and the one the GC teams have been pointing at all week.

   Break into Andorra

   A strong break goes on the first mountain stage, high in Andorra.

2. 221 km to go

   The break thins on Pal

   On the climb to Pal the breakaway is whittled down to the strongest.

3. 35 km to go

   Vine attacks at home

   Jay Vine attacks the break on the upper slopes of Pal and rides clear in his adopted home.

4. 4At the line

   Vine conquers Pal

   Vine solos to victory atop Pal in Andorra.
