The road
At the start
Ascension Day in the Dolomites
Pierre Rolland soloed into Canazei and nothing moved at the top: Dumoulin by 31 seconds from Quintana, 1:12 from Nibali, 2:38 from Pinot. Today is short and stacked β 137 kilometres, close to 4,000 metres of climbing, almost no valley road at all: the Pordoi, the Valparola, the Gardena, the Passo di Pinei, and a last kick at Pontives four kilometres from Ortisei.
How it was won

Onto the giant Pordoi
The breakaway tackles the towering Passo Pordoi as the peloton lets the dayβs move build a lead.
