The road
At the start
Dennis in pink, 229km of Negev
Three bonus seconds at Caesarea put Rohan Dennis into the maglia rosa by a single second from Tom Dumoulin. Today is the last day in Israel and the longest so far: 229 kilometres south out of Beersheba, across the emptiness of the Negev to Eilat on the Red Sea. Flat, hot and exposed. Elia Viviani has won the last two and wants a third before the race flies to Sicily.
How it was won
- 169 km to go
A desert breakaway
Three riders are gone from the flag and spend over 200km off the front across the barren Negev, the camels outnumbering the roadside fans.
