A flat day between the mountains
Isaac del Toro answered everybody in Bormio and holds pink by 41 seconds from Richard Carapaz, 51 from Simon Yates. Luke Plapp and Jay Vine both crashed out yesterday. Today is the last easy day of this Giro, 144 kilometres down out of the Alps to Cesano Maderno — a sprinters' stage that matters only because of what follows it.
