At the start

Back in Italy, back to the sprinters

The race crosses the Adriatic with Mads Pedersen in pink again, nine seconds up on Primož Roglič after the bonus seconds in Vlorë. Stage 4 is 189 kilometres of Puglia to Lecce with 730 metres of climbing in the entire day — the flattest stage of this Giro, and the first honest chance the pure sprinters get.

How it was won

  1. 9 km to go

    Late crash splits the bunch

A crash inside the final kilometres holds up Pedersen and several favourites on the run into Lecce.

  2. At the line

    Van Uden's first GT win

Casper van Uden surges through to win the sprint for his first Grand Tour stage.
