The race crosses the Adriatic with Mads Pedersen in pink again, nine seconds up on Primož Roglič after the bonus seconds in Vlorë. Stage 4 is 189 kilometres of Puglia to Lecce with 730 metres of climbing in the entire day — the flattest stage of this Giro, and the first honest chance the pure sprinters get.
