1. 1180 km to go

   Bouhanni's Tour ends after ten kilometres

   A Cofidis pile-up takes down five riders and Nacer Bouhanni leaves in an ambulance, the injuries from the French championships reopened. Ten kilometres of his Tour de France.

2. 299 km to go

   Sprinting past the Somme

   The intermediate sprint comes at Rancourt, beside the largest cemetery of the Battle of the Somme. Greipel, Degenkolb and Cavendish take the points behind the break.

3. 390 km to go

   One right-hander, two races

   A ninety-degree right turns a headwind into a crosswind and the peloton snaps in half on the spot. A hundred riders make the front group — every sprinter and every GC man among them — and the rest trudge in more than fourteen minutes down.

4. 4At the line

   Greipel again in Amiens

   Kristoff, Cavendish and Démare all open up early into the headwind. Greipel surges from behind them and wins going away.
