   Martin alone on the Mühleberg

   Tony Martin has ridden a 100km time trial off the front with Alaphilippe clinging on; on the day's only classified climb the Frenchman finally lets the wheel go, Dimension Data halve the gap to 21 seconds, and Kittel is spat out of the bunch behind.

2. 222 km to go

   Astana lose patience

   Twenty-two kilometres out, Tanel Kangert attacks and ends Martin's long afternoon. The German goes straight out of the back without lifting a pedal.

3. 3At the line

   Sagan throws it in Berne

   Through the cobbles, tram lines and turns of the run-in, Vanmarcke tries a late move and Giant lead the bunch past. At the line Peter Sagan throws the bike and takes the photo-finish from Kristoff by centimetres — his third stage of the race.
