1. 170 km to go

   Contador ignites it

   On the very first climb, the Col de Latrape, Alberto Contador bobs clear with 70km to go and blows this short mountain stage wide open.

2. 255 km to go

   Quintana joins the fray

   Quintana launches on the Col d’Agnès, and with Barguil he stalks Contador and Landa across the mountains all afternoon.

3. 327 km to go

   Froome’s sting on the Péguère

   Near the summit of the wall-like Mur de Péguère, Froome unsheathes a stinging attack — and Aru, ever watchful, is instantly on his wheel.

4. 413 km to go

   The quartet drive to Foix

   Contador, Landa, Quintana and Barguil collaborate smoothly down the descent, holding off a squabbling group of favourites.

5. 5At the line

   Barguil wins on Bastille Day

   Warren Barguil holds his nerve in the four-up sprint in Foix, the first Frenchman to win on July 14th since 2005.
