At the start

Champs-Élysées, and a Welshman in yellow

Tom Dumoulin won in Espelette but took only fourteen seconds out of the yellow jersey, so Geraint Thomas carries 1:51 into Paris with Chris Froome back up to third. Today is the walk in the park and then the laps of the Champs-Élysées — 116 kilometres from Houilles, champagne early and a full-tilt sprint at the end. Kristoff, Démare and Degenkolb are most of what is left of the fast men.

How it was won

  1. 2 km to go

    Lampaert nearly steals it

A late dig from Yves Lampaert threatens to spoil the sprinters' party on the Champs-Élysées, the Belgian champion caught just 300m from the line.

  2. At the line

Kristoff wins on the Champs, Thomas crowned

Alexander Kristoff hugs the barriers to win on the Champs-Élysées, while behind, Geraint Thomas rolls in with his team to celebrate the crowning of his first Tour de France.
