At the start

Libourne to Limoges, uphill at the end

Nothing has changed since the Pyrenees: Jonas Vingegaard by 25 seconds from Tadej Pogačar, Jai Hindley at 1:34. Jasper Philipsen has now won three of the Tour's four sprints and denied Mark Cavendish his record by a bike length in Bordeaux. Today is 200 kilometres from Libourne to Limoges — flat to begin with, then seventy undulating kilometres into the foothills of the Massif Central and a finish that tilts uphill.

How it was won

1. 160 km to go

   Cavendish crashes out

   Just outside 60km to go Mark Cavendish goes down in a clash of wheels, gripping his collarbone. Minutes later he is loaded into an ambulance, his final Tour and the record-breaking 35th win gone.

2. 237 km to go

   Asgreen attacks

   The Tour of Flanders winner Kasper Asgreen springs clear at 37km to go and dangles just out of the peloton's reach for miles, forcing the sprint teams to work.

3. 36 km to go

   Late crash

   A crash inside the final 6km catches Simon Yates, costing him vital GC seconds, while the uphill drag to Limoges threatens to split the sprint.

4. 4At the line

   Limoges

   On the rising finish Mads Pedersen overpowers Philipsen and Van Aert for a dramatic Lidl-Trek win.
