At the start

Ten kilometres straight uphill

Hautacam changed everything: Tadej Pogačar has yellow again and leads Jonas Vingegaard by 3:31, Remco Evenepoel by 4:45. Today is a mountain time trial, the Tour's first in more than twenty years — 10.9 kilometres from Loudenvielle, flat for the opening three and then a wall, finishing on the Peyragudes altiport runway where Froome cracked in 2017.

How it was won

  1. 8 km to go

    Flat then skyward

The short, brutal mountain time trial begins on flatter roads before tilting savagely toward the Peyragudes altiport.

  2. 3 km to go

    Pogačar on another level

On the final ramps to the altiport Pogačar is simply on another level, tearing the climb apart against the clock.

  3. 1 km to go

    Vingegaard limits losses

Vingegaard takes second on the day but loses more time to the rampant Slovenian.

  4. At the line

    Pogačar wins the mountain TT

Pogačar wins the uphill time trial at Peyragudes and stretches his overall lead.
