Before the race

The longest day, into the Morvan

The longest stage of the race leaves Bourges and keeps its climbing for the second half, when the road lifts into the rugged Morvan. The categorised climbs come late, in the last fifty kilometres: the Côte de la Croix de la Libération, 4.6 kilometres at 5.3%, then the Signal d'Uchon, 5.7 kilometres at 5.7%, which tops out eighteen kilometres from Le Creusot. The rest is an undulating road to the line.
