1. 143 km to go

   Astana take the reins

   Two Sky riders in the move mean Movistar will give it nothing, and Astana are happy to help. By the first ascent of El Vivero the break has already lost Atapuma to a crash.

2. 218 km to go

   Snuffed out with 18km left

   Elissonde and Kennaugh force it to the very end, but the seven-man move is finally caught ahead of the second climb of the Vivero.

3. 313 km to go

   Devenyns senses the lull

   The on-form Dries Devenyns forges clear the moment the climb begins and carves out 45 seconds. Moreno drags Contador back and then joins a counter over the summit with Sánchez, Bennett, Bakelants and Formolo, twelve kilometres out.

4. 4At the line

   Keukeleire from distance

   Devenyns is caught with 1,500 metres left and, with the whole group already on them, the finish becomes a confused scramble. Jens Keukeleire opens his sprint from far out, builds an insurmountable lead, and takes the biggest win of his career in Bilbao.
