   Froome isolated

   Pellizotti’s relentless tempo leaves Froome with only Nieve for company, the race leader looking uncomfortable.

   Nibali senses weakness

   Nibali attacks with 2km to go, sensing that Froome is not at his best.

5. 51 km to go

   López bridges and goes

   Miguel Ángel López is first across to Nibali, then kicks again; Froome cannot respond and cuts his losses.

   López wins at Calar Alto

   Miguel Ángel López charges clear to win at Calar Alto, 14 seconds up on the red jersey.
