The road
At the start
Forty flat kilometres at Logroño
Miguel Ángel López took his second stage in the Sierra Nevada and Froome held on: he leads Nibali by 1:01, Zakarin by 2:08, Kelderman by 2:11. Rohan Dennis and four others did not start after the rest day. Today is 40.2 kilometres from the Navarre circuit to Logroño, flat and fast and about as unfriendly to a pure climber as a stage gets. Froome has to be in red tonight.
