   De Gendt leads the 32-man break over the category 1 Puerto de Tarna, their advantage still more than six minutes with 70km to go.

2. 23 km to go

   Majka forces La Camperona

   On the vertiginous final 3km, where the gradient tops 20 per cent, Majka forces the pace and only Teuns can go with him.

3. 31 km to go

   Rodríguez edges across

   The 23-year-old debutant Óscar Rodríguez claws his way up to the two WorldTour riders and, glancing back, rises from the saddle to hammer clear.

4. 4At the line

   Rodríguez wins on La Camperona

   Rodríguez soloes to his maiden professional win; two minutes back, Quintana kicks away from Yates within sight of the line as the GC fight catches fire.
