   On the second time up the Coll de Beixalis the lead group splinters and the red jersey group begins to fracture, Astana driving relentlessly for López.

   Yates stamps his authority

   With 17km to go Yates attacks, and only Enric Mas can hold him; the pair set off after the leaders, hunting down the Colombians up the road.

3. 317 km to go

   Over the Comella a second time

   Across the Coll de la Comella for the second time the front of the race regroups for the final showdown on the Gallina.

   Kruijswijk fights for the podium

   On the hors-catégorie Coll de la Gallina, Steven Kruijswijk attacks in a desperate bid to save his slipping podium place.

   Mas wins, Yates seals the Vuelta

   Enric Mas outsprints López to the summit for the win; Yates rolls in third to seal his first Grand Tour and complete a remarkable redemption after his Giro heartbreak.
