At the start

Madrid, and Yates's redemption

Simon Yates carries 1:46 over Enric Mas and 2:04 over Miguel Ángel López into Madrid, four months after the Colle delle Finestre took the Giro away from him. Today is 100 kilometres out of Alcobendas and then the laps of the Paseo de la Castellana: champagne and photographs first, and a sprint at the end for Elia Viviani, who already has two.
