- Wednesday 18 August 2021
- 185 km
- 640 m climbed
- Won by Jasper Philipsen
The road
At the start
A third flat day, and the wind
Nothing moved yesterday: Taaramäe keeps red, Elissonde at 25 seconds, Roglič at thirty. Fabio Jakobsen won the sprint at Molina de Aragón, his first Grand Tour stage since the crash at the Tour de Pologne a year ago that nearly killed him. Today is 185 kilometres to Albacete, again without a climb, through country where echelons are a local speciality.
How it was won
- 11 km to go
Chaos at eleven kilometres
A touch of wheels near the front brings down a large section of the peloton. Taaramäe is caught up for the second day running; Bardet and Nieve are still on the ground minutes later.

Alpecin-Fenix time their move perfectly in the final kilometre and Philipsen takes his second of the race by a clear bike length from Jakobsen.
