At the start

Madrid, and a race that never settled

Jonas Vingegaard rides to Madrid in red with 1:16 on João Almeida after taking half a minute back on the Bola del Mundo. A hundred and seven flat kilometres and a finishing circuit are all that is left, the sprinters' last chance of the season's last Grand Tour — and after three weeks of protests, nobody in the convoy takes the ceremony for granted.

   Madrid overwhelmed

   Massive pro-Palestine protests flood the streets of Madrid, blocking the route and forcing repeated changes to the finale.

2. 28 km to go

   Finale cancelled

   With the course unsafe the organisers cancel the finish: there is no stage winner and no podium ceremony, though Jonas Vingegaard is confirmed champion of the 2025 Vuelta.
