Jungels in pink, a lap of Messina
Etna settled less than it promised. Bob Jungels came off the volcano in the maglia rosa, six seconds up on Geraint Thomas, with Nibali, Quintana, Dumoulin, Yates and Pozzovivo locked together at ten seconds. Rohan Dennis abandoned there and Javier Moreno was disqualified. Today climbs early to tempt a break, then runs flat to a circuit of Messina, Nibali's home city, where the sprinters get their say.
