The real Giro starts here

Giulio Ciccone did not start Sunday's stage, one more name off a shrinking list. Isaac del Toro carries pink into the third week with Simon Yates at 1:20, Juan Ayuso at 1:26 and Richard Carapaz at 2:07. Today is 203 kilometres and 4,700 metres of climbing to the summit finish at San Valentino, the first of four mountain days that will settle all of it.
