The road
At the start
Back to Italy, and one long climb
The Giro comes home to Calabria, 138 kilometres from Catanzaro to Cosenza. Guillermo Thomas Silva holds pink by four seconds from Florian Stork and Egan Bernal — four seconds that fourteen kilometres of the Cozzo Tunno could undo, cresting forty from the line. Paul Magnier, twice a winner already, leads the points by 105. Wilco Kelderman does not start.
How it was won
- 50 km to go
Silva cracks on Cozzo Tunno
Movistar detonate the bunch on the long Cozzo Tunno climb, catching the break and shelling the sprinters. Pink jersey Silva is spat out the back, his historic lead evaporating as the group crests six minutes clear of him.
- 12 km to go
Bonus-second scramble
At the Red Bull Kilometre, 11.5km out, Jan Christen grabs the maximum six seconds ahead of Pellizzari and Ciccone, seconds that will reshuffle the top of the standings.
- 2 km to go
Christen's flyer
Christen darts under the flamme rouge alone, but a huge pull from Sobrero drags him back inside the final 500 metres to set up the sprint.

Narváez wins, Ciccone in pink
Perfectly placed on Ciccone's wheel, Narváez pulls into the wind only in the last hundred metres and powers to the win, while Ciccone's bonus seconds carry him into the maglia rosa.
