La Planche did its work. Fabio Aru won it, Chris Froome took the yellow jersey, and the top eight are covered by 52 seconds: Thomas at twelve, Aru at fourteen, Dan Martin at 25, Porte at 39, Bardet at 47, Contador at 52. Today is 219 kilometres of la France profonde between Vesoul and Troyes, two small climbs and a lot of straight road that rises and falls without ever really climbing.
