   A ferocious short-stage start

   The novel 65km stage explodes from the gun; over Peyragudes the break has fought clear at nearly 50kph on the opening slopes.

2. 214 km to go

   Roglič tests the favourites

   Roglič jumps out of the yellow-jersey group with 13.5km to go and sets a fierce tempo, Froome glued to his wheel as Dumoulin leads the chase.

3. 35 km to go

   Quintana attacks the Col du Portet

   On the brutal final climb Nairo Quintana accelerates clear of the chase and rides alone toward the summit, chasing his first Tour stage in five years.

4. 4At the line

   Quintana wins on the Col du Portet

   Quintana soloes to victory atop the Col du Portet; behind, the favourites trade blows, Roglič and Thomas edging clear of a struggling Froome.
