Stage 18

At the start

A day of respite, down to Pau

The Col du Portet reordered the podium behind Geraint Thomas: Tom Dumoulin is second at 1:59, Chris Froome has slipped to third at 2:31, and Nairo Quintana, who won up there, is fifth. Philippe Gilbert, who went over a wall on the Portet d'Aspet and rode to the finish anyway, did not start yesterday. Today is 170 kilometres to Pau over two small climbs, and one of the last chances the sprinters will get.

How it was won

   Démare's long-awaited win

Off a superb lead-out, Arnaud Démare jumps inside the final 200m to win in Pau ahead of Laporte and Kristoff.
