The road
At the start
The Cholet team time trial
Peter Sagan won in La Roche-sur-Yon and took the yellow jersey, with Gaviria at six seconds. Today is 35.5 kilometres of team time trial around Cholet, rolling rather than flat and starting straight up a four-per-cent hill. Sky and BMC are the favourites, and the directors are talking about two minutes for the teams that get it wrong. Some climbers will spend a fortnight paying for this afternoon.
