   Crash splits the cobbles

   A big crash 67km out on sector 12 tears the race apart. Nibali, Adam Yates, Zakarin and Dan Martin are all caught on the wrong side as Sky drive the front group away.

2. 250 km to go

   Sky crash on Mons-en-Pévèle

   Heading onto the brutal Mons-en-Pévèle sector Team Sky go down en masse — Froome and Thomas both hit the deck and briefly drop from the peloton.

3. 332 km to go

   The crashes keep coming

   The pavé claims rider after rider — Kwiatkowski, Landa, then Gilbert and Theuns on the exit of Templeuve — as GC hopes drain away in the dust.

4. 430 km to go

   Urán's Tour unravels

   Rigoberto Urán surfaces on camera 30km out, over a minute down after a crash, his podium ambitions from 2017 quietly slipping away on the stones.

5. 53 km to go

   Sagan attacks for the points

   Sagan slips clear with Gilbert, Stuyven and Jungels 3km out — an eye on the green jersey more than the stage, with the leaders already up the road.

6. 6At the line

   Degenkolb's emotional Roubaix win

   After a cat-and-mouse final kilometre John Degenkolb leads out from the front and holds off Van Avermaet and Lampaert to win in the Roubaix velodrome — a return to the top after his career-threatening crash.
