At the start

The day after the crosswinds

Ineos tore the race apart in the wind at Albi, and the damage is on the sheet this morning: Pinot, Urán and Landa all lost more than a minute, George Bennett nearly ten, and Thomas and Bernal now sit second and third behind Alaphilippe at 1:12 and 1:16. After the rest day comes the simplest stage of the race, 165 kilometres to Toulouse — unless the wind gets up again on the open run in from Gaillac.

   Ewan grinds to a halt

   With 10km to go Ewan's lead-out man De Buyst is nudged into a ditch and the Australian has to unclip and stop dead, then chase furiously back to the front.

   Ewan's maiden Tour stage

   Isolated and forced to freelance, Ewan still comes around Groenewegen in Toulouse for the biggest win of his career, Viviani third.
