The road
At the start
Yates in yellow, Mont Aigoual above
Adam Yates has the yellow jersey by three seconds from Roglič and seven from Pogačar, and bonus seconds rather than a mountain put him there. Today ends on Mont Aigoual, 1,550 metres up in the Cévennes, where on a clear day you can see the Alps, the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean at once. The sting comes before it: the Col de la Lusette, eleven kilometres at 7.3%.
How it was won
- 13 km to go
Lutsenko forges clear
On the brutal category 1 Col de la Lusette Alexey Lutsenko drives clear of the day's break, cresting alone toward the windswept finish at Mont Aigoual.
- 6 km to go
Solo over the top
Lutsenko carries his advantage over the final rise, the GC group content to let the breakaway decide the stage on the exposed Cevennes roads.
