At the start

Rouen's ramps, and Philipsen is gone

Jasper Philipsen crashed out in Dunkerque yesterday, and the green jersey has lost its favourite before the first week is done. Mathieu van der Poel keeps yellow with Pogačar at four seconds and Vingegaard at six. The run into Rouen throws six short climbs at them, the last the Rampe Saint-Hilaire less than five kilometres from the line — too steep for sprinters, perfect for the men on the podium.

   Rouen turns punchy

   Rouen's lumpy finishing circuit, topped by the steep Rampe Saint-Hilaire, turns the finale into a puncheur's battlefield.

2. 22 km to go

   The big three collide

   On the final drag the three biggest names in the race come to the line together, Pogačar, Van der Poel and Vingegaard throwing down in a pure test of class.

   Pogačar outduels Van der Poel and Vingegaard in the uphill sprint to win in Rouen.
