Before the race

From the Morbihan to the Loire

Vannes sends the race east, and the one rise of note comes early, around Sulniac. After Redon the road runs on through the Loire-Atlantique into the Maine-et-Loire with nothing categorised all day, and reaches the Loire at Bouchemaine for the run into Angers, flat and tipping slightly downhill to the line. A sprinters' day, the day before the first time trial.
