The road
At the start
Pinot goes home, Laguna Negra next
Thibaut Pinot did not start today: the back he carried out of the Tour de France has beaten him, and Matej Mohorič has gone too. Roglič leads Dan Martin by nine seconds and Carapaz by eleven. A third consecutive day finishing on a first-category climb, and this one is the highest of the three but the kindest — a long steady haul to the black lake at La Laguna Negra.
How it was won

Favourites to the front
On the drag toward the reservoir at La Laguna Negra the GC teams mass at the front, the stage narrowing to an uphill dash between the overall men.
