At the start

Into the Pyrenees, and the weather

Sam Bennett won the bunch sprint and nothing moved above him: Roglič, Dan Martin at five seconds, Carapaz at thirteen, Enric Mas at 32. Today the Vuelta reaches the Pyrenees properly — 184 kilometres looping out of Huesca beneath the highest peaks in the range, with the Alto de Vio, the Fanlo and the Petralba stacked into the second half before a lumpy run to Sabiñánigo.

1. 134 km to go

   The break fights for the win

   On a lumpy day to Sabinanigo the break stays clear, a small group of strongmen jostling for position as the peloton lets the stage go.

2. 29 km to go

   Three clear

   Tim Wellens, Guillaume Martin and Thymen Arensman break away from the rest of the escape to contest the win between them.

3. 3At the line

   Wellens takes it

   Wellens gets the better of the three-man sprint to win the stage and move into the mountains classification lead.
