At the start

dsm sweep the board, and Montjuïc

Team dsm-firmenich won the team time trial by less than a second and hold the first six places on general classification, Lorenzo Milesi in red. Today runs 184 kilometres from Mataró inland and back to Barcelona over the first categorised climbs of the race, then up the Castell de Montjuïc — 900 metres at 9.4 per cent — with only 3.6 kilometres left to the line.

How it was won

  1. 74 km to go

    Chaos on the Estenalles descent

The wet descent off the Coll d'Estenalles sparks mayhem: fifteen riders puncture, Evenepoel among them, calmly returning to his car and rejoining after 20km.

  2. 3 km to go

    Kron's daring move

With the day's break caught, Andreas Kron seizes his chance and jumps away on the ramp to Castell de Montjuïc.

  3. At the line

    Barcelona

Kron flies down the descent to win by seven seconds, with Groves leading the chase group home for second.
